Candidates for the IJMB & JUPEB programmes are normally required to register for three A LEVEL subjects in consideration to the course they intend to study in the University.

Each selected subject is divided into three or two parts depending on the curriculum or syllabus for instance mathematics maybe divided into maths 101, 102 & 103 maths 101 deals with algebra and trigonometry maths 102 deals with calculus maths 103 deals with statistics. Each of the divided parts contribute equally to the grand total of the parent subject.

IJMB & JUPEB grades are rated with points the highest obtainable point is 16 points

C 3
D 2
E 1
F 0

NOTE : An extra point is given to any candidate that does not have an ‘F’.

For Instance, Agbo Favour wants to study Medicine in the University of Ilorin so she registered for Biology, Chemistry and Physics for her IJMB programme and had the grades

Biology – A

Physics – B

Her Total Point is 5 + 5 + 4 + 1(For Not Having any F) = 15 points

Raimot Blessing wants to study Accounting in the University of Lagos, so she registered for Business Management, Economics and Account for her JUPEB programme and had the grades

Business Management – C

Economics – C

Account – F

Her Total Point is 3 + 3 +0 +0(Having an F) = 6 points
